London Is Where It's At!

Heaven Hi!!!

Well London is a hubbub of commotion for an annual event sure to rock the socks off all the stars!

From Harry Potter to Beatrix Potter, Bond to Borat, David Lean to Mr Bean, British cinema, the skills of British actors, directors and technicians have long been respected around the globe. And as the London Film Festival opens in the British capital, one of the starring roles is the city itself.
Squeezed between Venice, Toronto and New York on one hand and the newcomer Rome on the other, London boasts a showcase of films from 43 countries, including one notable world premiere: Robert Redford’s “Lions for Lambs.”

Hollywood names such as Woody Allen, with whom I loved working with, have an ongoing love for swinging London. He’s directed three films in the city in recent years, contributing to its status as the biggest production center outside the U.S. We’ll be covering these events along with our Dancing with the Stars salsa gossip. We’ll bring you the hot and the not and show you how many of these stars model what Acting For Real has taught them. I’ll tell you how their Key to a Great Attitude has heightened their success. How their Creative Triangles of Human Behavior has brought them to where they are today. How by applying the skills in my book, Acting For Real, have shot them to star level status. If you would like to follow up on what the stars are doing, or would love to learn the secrets that these stars apply in all aspects of their life, pick up my book, Acting For Real. It’s all in there; it’s up to you, because success is only a book cover away.

Are We Wrong About Larry David?

Heaven Hi!!!
Here’s a story for you……………..
Larry David steals a glance at his wristwatch. It’s about 11:50. He needs to check out of the hotel by noon. He pleasantly explains he’s only got a few more minutes.

And no offense meant, by the way, when he looked at his watch.

“I wasn’t bored or anything,” he assures his interviewer.
Eureka! “There’s a typical ‘TV Larry’ thing,” he says, unleashing a small rant: “In life, we can’t look at a watch! It’s anti-social to look at a watch. You can’t be at a dinner party and look at a watch. It’s rude! People think you want to go home. “Maybe you just want to know what time it is! You’re allowed to know what time it is, aren’t you?”He’s put his finger on another of life’s injustices. Didn’t the first President Bush lose a re-election race just by looking at his watch during a debate?

“Exactly!” says David. “The guy lost the presidency ’cause he looked at his watch! Absolutely!”
This could be a scene straight from “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the sort of deconstruction site where TV Larry thrives.

“It’s certainly something that he would be interested in,” “this taboo about looking at a watch!”
Sometimes people focus on the negative when in all reality, there is nothing negative about it. This comes from years of habitual behavior and negative self-talk. In my book, Acting For Real, I talk about the six components that make up human behavior. Subcategoried into two parts. The Creative Triangle of Human Behavior, and the Dark Triangle of Human Behavior. Larry David is known for using his Creative Triangle where he shifts 50%of personality towards humor. As he is in fact a well known comedian. 25% of his focus is on his humanities, by channeling and entertaining the public and his intimate connection with an audience. The other 25% of his personality is sexuality, for his loving nature towards his wife, and brilliant acerbic wit that accompanies him. Although, his observational comedy may come across as negative, his intention is to bring a light heartiness to the audience and the public through laughter.

We all have the power of positive thinking that are hidden within us that trigger our creative triangles of human behavior. My book, Acting For Real, will provide the keys and steps to find your power of positive thinking and turn you into a blow torch of positivity and success. Stop by and pick it up, and learn how you too and tap into your funny zone, and generate wealth, and pretty soon you might be reading articles about what’s on your mind when you glance down at your watch?

Is There Such a Thing as Overwhelming Success?

Heaven Hi!!!

Here’s to modesty. Success can shock people. It can throw people off BALANCE. So, the real question is, are you ready for success? In my book, Acting For Real, I talk about to be in BOP (balanced, observant, and present) is to be in the state of greatness. As an acting coach I’ve coached many Hollywood stars on their road to success, and one thing is key; balance is moderation.

If you are BOP you are ready for success, however, people who are shy, afraid to bust out of comfort zones, and have habitual behavior should take a lesson from my book before they achieve success from their talents.

For Example, The former “American Idol” winner, Carrie Underwood sold 6 million copies of her debut album “Some Hearts,” a phenomenal number for any artist let alone a new one. She won two Grammy awards, scored three No. 1 country hits and shot to superstardom almost overnight.
On the eve of her follow-up, “Carnival Ride,” she’s entitled to a few butterflies — or a whole swarm of them if she wants.

“It’s so anticipated. Not just by the public, but by us too,” she says of the disc, which hit stores last Tuesday, in an interview before its release. “The whole ‘Can we top the first one?’ mind-set sets in.”

Many young people in Hollywood find that success can be overwhelming if you are not ready for it. So, we ask ourselves, how can we better approach a successful life, to where we are not thrown off BALANCE? The Answer is simple to be in a state of BOP=Excellence! For you success driven people out there, pick up my book, Acting For Real, and learn how you can be Balanced, Observant, and Present so you are ready when you start generating your wealth. From start to finish, Acting For Real will give you the skills to live a happy, successful life, while preparing you forever whatever your talents bring you.

Mariska Where Art Thou?

Heaven Hi!!!

Like so many others, Mariska Hargitay cannot get away from Law & Order.
That’s probably because we can’t take our eyes off of her.
While in Hawaii, the actress from “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” turned on a television and the show was on.

“I was like, ‘Argh, I can’t get away from it.’ I turned it off and ran outside and of course people were like, ‘Oh my God you’re on TV right now!” the television detective told Newsweek magazine for editions on newsstands Monday.

Being a celebrity sometimes has its perks, especially when the Emmy winner gets stopped by a police officer.

“The cops in New York and L.A. have been, how shall I say, very patient. I’ve gotten a couple of warnings but they’ve been very gracious. There’s definitely a bond, a rapport, with law enforcement,” she said.

We all know Mariska’s talent and beauty have attracted audiences all over the world, but how does she do it? By utilizing the Creative Triangle of Human Behavior. Mariska knows how to shift her body to draw the audiences in and along with her great acting she puts the cherry on top of her performance. 50% of Mariska’s character is sexuality, and not just by her beauty, but her wit and talent fuse together to make her one deadly weapon. Her caring side for humanity causes her to focus 25% of her character towards humanities. Let’s not forget her clever little arrest jokes as she enforces the law. Mariska knows with this business there needs to be a laugh or two. 25% of her character is focused on humor. My book Acting For Real teaches you how the through the Laws of Attraction and correctly being in BOP you can utilize your Creative Triangle of Human Behavior to be the star in your own play of life. Reveal your sexuality, break out of your comfort zones. Read my book, Acting For Real, “It would be a crime to miss it.”

From Another Voice……….

Heaven Hi!!!

We are honored to have a guest today, and a very good friend of mine come, and write to us about an issue that has affected all of us, and that is the recent fires in California. Tad Sisler is a tremendous jazz musician who I’ve known for years. His talent, wit, and insight have been brought to us here at Acting For Real to bring words of truth and testimony to the current tragedy that has affected this great state. Let’s here what Tad has to Say:

On The Fires
By Tad Sisler

We are vulnerable. We attempt to live a structured life with a work ethic, belief in God, a family, or whatever else best describes our identity. The best of us are persistent and kind, and most of us don’t wish harm on anyone, most of the time.

We live our lives and habits in a pattern we create for ourselves, and over a period of time we begin to expect things to remain the same day after day as we hopefully work towards fulfilling our dreams and then, a day comes or an event happens that changes it all.

It took most of a day to begin to realize the magnitude of the fires. After a hand-wringing day of shuttling back and forth between local TV news stations, we were at least for now some of the lucky few who were allowed to stay on temporary house arrest with windows and doors sealed tight to maintain some fresh air in the house, while black smoke and ash settled on our porches.

Most of San Diego was being evacuated, and quickly, as the firestorm was fueled by raging Santa Ana winds. All of a sudden there were 7 major fires burning at once. Backfires were started, and twice, the backfires made it worse, a worthy but losing gamble. Wildfires were raging, too, in Malibu and Temecula and Lake Arrowhead among countless smaller towns and cities all over Southern California.

The reverse-911 phone calls were championed as a new tool in San Diego, implemented from what we learned out of the 2003 fires, and the calls generally worked like a charm. Evacuation orders were issued, and whole neighborhoods complied, although at first there were many firefighters and policemen rescuing people too stubborn to heed the call, thereby taking precious fire fighters and policemen away from the important job of fighting and managing the fires on several fronts. After the firestorm hit and people figured out that this was indeed serious after all, most everyone just paid attention and left quickly.

Qualcomm Stadium, the Del Mar Fairgrounds and countless schools, churches and shelters filled quickly with a half million displaced people, each family with a different story, with different fears or somber news of another home going up in smoke; with the anxiety of wondering whether YOUR home was one of the chosen ones. While an outpouring of supplies and an army of volunteers was created, we all began to fear the worst while hoping for the best. On every channel there were lists and lists of streets addresses and numbers of homes burned, a morbid accounting of lives forever changed.

The figures are staggering, more than a billion dollars of damage, well over 1000 homes and businesses destroyed. Burnt acreage is more than 10 times the size of Washington, DC. Whole towns are gone.

Mother Nature is not prejudiced. Multi-million dollar homes went up equally as fast as cottages did. And we were reminded by the deaths yet again of more brave firefighters that any of our fortunes can change in an instant; as fast as wildfire.

The lessons learned again will be many and at an overwhelming cost. Again we witnessed the better angels of our collective nature, and reminded ourselves how fortunate we all are to have such an outpouring of care and concern and help. Again I was reminded of how fortunate I am to live here.

When the story is old and the cameras have turned in another direction, again the basic lessons of life come to mind. Don’t take anyone or anything for granted. Understand that each day has a new lesson for you, and always remember the invincible summer within you.

But mostly, as in life, when catastrophe strikes, hold your head up and don’t walk away from the rubble until it is completely rebuilt.

Heaven Hi!!! Again, you can check out Tad’s work and music that is sold on several websites, including Amazon.com where you will also find my, Acting For Real book. Check him out. He is an awesome talent and an honored friend. Until we meet again………

Anybody Up For A Laugh?

Heaven Hi!!!

Steve Carrel shines in his newest film since his smash hit “Evan Almighty,” in “Dan in Real Life.”

He’s not a prankster like Jim Carrey or a crack-up like Robin Williams; he’s more the Jack Lemmon type (it’s easy to imagine him in a remake of “The Apartment”). His awkward, inadequate ordinariness is his selling point. He’s the fool who suffers frustration, humiliation and rejection on our behalf, and the joke is always on him.

If Carell looked swamped in “Evan Almighty,” he’s firmly back in his comfort zone in “Dan in Real Life.” This is his most assured and rounded performance to date. Dan’s character is a “flying” character. He is always on his toes half paranoid about the world around him.

In the opening few minutes we watch Dan dispensing sage parenting tips in print — the movie’s title is also the name of his advice column — and keeping a too-tight rein on his three growing daughters. A widower, he’s working his socks off to keep it all together.

It sounds like the setup for a sitcom, but never mind. No sooner has Dan driven the kids to Poppy and Nana’s house for the annual family get-together.This is located in off-season Rhode Island where he meets up with none other then the beautiful Juliette Binoche in a secondhand bookstore.

Dan’s focus is on his humanities, however with his off balanced personality, he is inadvertantly delivering comedy. That’s where his character is 25% focused on his humor with his quirky personality and ironic sense of ‘humor.’ 25% of this film as well as the third triangle of Dan’s creative character is sexuality. Dan finds himself smittes for lovely Binoche who has also attracted Dan’s little brother, playing Dane Cook. Uh oh! Problem! This film is light hearted and charming. Dan in Real life plays a character that Actors For Real can relate to by trying to maintain that balance in life with children, school, dating, flirting, and family. My book, talks about how to be balanced, observent, and present in REAL LIFE. Read my book and you will find the steps to success that we and even Dan try every day so hard to look for. It’s all in there, you just have to open it up.

Who Remembers Milton Caniff?

Heaven Hi!!!

Who remembers some of the old “Terry and the Pirates” comic strips? Or the “Steve Canyon” comics? Well for those of you who know we take a look back to one of the great pioneers of comic strips, Milton Caniff.

Caniff, born a century ago and dubbed the “Rembrandt of the comic strip,” is being recognized this week in a series of exhibits in the city where he attended Ohio State University and took his first full-time drawing job. The shows are timed to the Festival of Cartoon Art, sponsored every three years by Ohio State’s Cartoon Research Library. The library, which houses the works of many well-known cartoonists, got its start with Caniff’s 1977 bequest of his papers.

The theme of this year’s festival is the art of graphic storytelling, a technique that Caniff pioneered.

“He was a master storyteller and he engaged his audience in a way that no other cartoonist had,” said Chery Straker, history curator at the Ohio Historical Society and the developer of a biographical exhibit about Caniff. “People looked forward to reading his comics each day to find out what was going to happen next. People cared about the characters as if they were real people.” Or Actors For Real?

Caniff was AWARE of the people’s detail, quirks, HUMOR, and sexuality. He was Observent about the intricacies of human movements, faces, postures, and gestures. He was aware of present time and where people are and what they do, and why they do it. The concept of flirting and sexuality was conveyed in a humoress form to draw the audience in. Among his tremendous prestige, Caniff, brought intrigue, warmth, and comfort to the imagination of all who read him. In my book, Acting For Real, there is a picture exercise where you examine the different movents of facial features as you identify with your character. It gives you not only a sense of character identity, but a sense of being. Pick up my book and check it out. Find out what characters you are playing in life, and you’ll learn how to perfect them.

Our Words Of Encouragement

Heaven Hi!!!

The term “blow some smoke,” has, as of now taken on a different meaning. California fires still rage on and we continue to send loving courageous thoughts towards those people who have lost their homes due to these blazes. With over $1 billion in damage in San Diego alone this is a time where we need to be aware of where we are in life, and where our loved ones are.

Our thanks go out to the thousands of firefighters who battle daily with the struggles of and their danger and vulnerability that threatens them. Firefighters have to be Balanced, Observant, and Present when battling a fire. They have to be aware of how close they get to the blaze; where to shoot the water out of the hose? Also, who else is in harms way and where their fellow firefighters are? They gallantly get up every day and fight to ward off the shooting flames that threaten innocent souls. Our strongest thanks, and hope for your well being is definitely at the front line of our gratitude.

This is a time where we have to come together and understand that we are all people sharing this Earth. We all have loved one, memories, and dwellings that are important to us. All are equal meaning everyone’s importance on this Earth is equal. So we send our gratitude for the brave heroes during this time of trial, and our loving courageous thoughts to those in need.
