A Philosophy to Live By
Heaven Hi,
What do you need from your business? What is your plan for success? What are you willing to do to see your goals manifest in your life? Last post we talked a little about the importance of staying focused and words. This week I want to share something with you that had a huge impact on my life and how I attack each day. When I coach Actors I require each to memorize this simple poem along with words. While I was typing it, I was thinking what a powerful way to live your life! If a person lived their life with this ATTITUDE and COMMITMENT, there is nothing they could not accomplish. As you read the poem please reflect on your own life and how with this attitude You could change any circumstance you face. The Poem is called the Average Man, but really applies to both men and women.
The Average Man
By Jim Bain
The World is NOT looking for the average man,
One content to live off the fat of the land;
Who like the tree with one dead limb
Never uses the full talents God has given him.
The world is NOT looking for the average man
Who is willing to quit just because he can,
And to be satisfied with being better than some’
Not giving a thought about improvement to come.
The world is NOT looking for the average man
Who finds it an honor with mediocre to stand,
And finish the race in the middle of the pack
While the world goes on and never looks back.
The world IS looking for the champion man
Who will give his best whenever he can,
No matter what the cost, he will always do his best
Never to be content with being like the rest.
The world IS looking for the champion man
Who has the toughness of a calloused hand;
Who is busy at work to improve his skill.
That he might escape being “run of the mill.”
The world IS looking for the champion man
Who won’t say, “I can’t,” but will say. “I can;”
Who finished the race in front of the pack,
So intent on his efforts he never looks back.
So to you who are preparing for your life’s work,
Who never intend your job to shirk,
Remember, the champion man could be you,
But only your best will ever do.
See You At The Top.
Be Blessed,
Thom
