What is RAS?

First let me say the reason the secret does not work for the lay person is Drum Roll please, it’s called the RAS and it is a brain barrier.

At the very top of your spine where it enters the head is a little organ the size of a small finger and some inches long called the Reticular Activating System.

The RAS acts as a filter system to protect you from the large number of impulses that are continually coming from the environment. In effect, it acts like a secretary filtering the mail of an executive, discarding the junk mail and only allowing the predetermined important mail to be put on your desk

Well, this is the good part which is why the "Secret" is tough to do, the RAS only allows info to go into the brain only if there is a pre-existing electrical circuit capable of absorbing the new info.

And one way to initially create a circuit is by repetition of an idea for many days.

We must learn that we can receive from the Law of Attraction only what we give to the Law;that the Law assumes toward us just the attitude we assume toward it.

Now here is the good part "The Secret" clamed that when you give your waitress brain a want, no mater if it is good or bad that is what will be served up. Sounds to me like Denny’s, check please!

If this was true then as an Actor I would be the Neck Tie murder but thank god it takes repetition, in fact some new brain circuits can be created in as few as 21 days and some in 30 days.

However, brain researchers have determined that if an idea is repeated for 120 days, it will definitely form a brain circuit and, in that case, the RAS will then emit brain chemicals that will seal the electrical circuit, in effect making it a permanent habit.

I would like to add one important point. When a circuit is sealed into the brain, then the RAS is very receptive to any related new ideas and all of sudden you will find yourself to be very "lucky" and creative.

But what is so secret about the Secret, I would love to hear from you what your take on the secret is, for one thing it was a great marketing story cha cheng. but what is it? 

At first, what I learned from the "Secret" seemed kind of "metaphysical" to me. Is it the "missing link"? , it seemed too simple to be true, in my book Acting for Real (Plug)

I write about life being simple but not easy, and how you can be the STAR IN YOUR LIFE. So duu in fact,  I realized that it wasn’t metaphysical at all. It was actually "Quantum Physics" — the study of subatomic particles. the Law of Attraction. 

The simplest definition of this law is "like attracts like." Right now you may be wondering what Quantum Physics has to do with the " Secret" Well, the simple fact is — it has EVERYTHING to do with it!

Quantum Physics explains how everything in our world comes to be. It shows how we are all in direct manipulation of our entire physical world.

In other words, even though your life appears to you as if you are the victim of circumstances — in reality, you control virtually everything in your life!

And because most people are not aware of this seemingly impossible fact, most people don’t know how really easy it is to Develop  there script for success and get what they need.

Once you realize "the illusion of reality" — and learn how to master it —You can be the STAR in your life .. you can acquire everything your heart desires!

But there is always a but! just like life is simple but not easy It is simple in concept but practice is necessary. The "Secret" with out a doubt is No doubt, and It takes ACTION!. That’s the secret sauce to the "SECRET

So the reason "The Secret" does not ordinarily "take" is that few people are disciplined enough to repeat there need or wish.The Law of Action. That’s the "Secret" ,

Now you look RAS up in the dictionary and tell me what you think it is. Don" tell them what I think because we are only interested in what you think the "Secret" is. I am working on an article about the "Secret" called
